600 mile service

My dealer told me that it woul cost about $140 just to reset service light. He said gas tank needed to be removed at 1 1/2 hours labor.Thats funny when the mechanic told me 2 weeks prior that it would be $40.I already changed the oil just needed light reset.
Thanks Ryan

I know how you feel. I do not know the laws in your area but in my country, a dealer can "dishonor" warranty if it was not serviced with them on scheduled maintenance service. So I have no choice but to pay for the charges they ask.

Initialy I played hardball and just decided to just let the warning light stay as it is. but after a few weeks, seing that yellow wrench symbol during starting up became frustrating and I eventualy brought it in to the dealer.

If you're dealer will not void your warranty, do what some forumers did, they bought their own VDST and removed the wrench sign themselves. if you can bring down the tank by yourself then this is a good option for you. just a heads up, refitting those aluminum radiator shrouds is a bit frustrating when you do not get it right.

Learn it, and don't let dealers bullshit you out of warranty service.
