GPS and mount

Would welcome conversation and suggestions for a gps and mount for my 1200s 2015 model. I seek a high quality mount and would prefer bar mount.

What have you guys had luck with?

Yours is the easiest to mount a Ramball base as you have no steering damper. Just use one of the four bolts clamping the handlebar.

That's why I 'm now left with an inventory of Ram Mount Ball bases.
It goes something like this: Nope, Nope, Nope, buy a few more, nope, Yeah.

There is one where the bolt goes right through the ball that would work.

Edit: found the part number: RAM-B-367U
https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-367U

You'll then need a short arm. Get the composite bc it's lighter. RAP-B-201U-A
and a cradle for the gps model you have.
BTW, which GPS do you have?

My solution was more complicated due to the steering damper being in the way.
My set-up is posted and described here:

Ooo you had the idea for a mount I used on my 959 and now Iím going to use this on my monster! Do you use a torque spec for right steering damper bolt?

Edit:
Found the torque specs ( in newton meters Ī10% tolerance) for that bolt in the service manual as shown below.
PS. The 959 GPS was even more challenging. I changed that set-up a few times as better hardware was found to tuck it in further without blocking the display.

Thanks. The ram mount is on its way. Canít wait to try it. Right now Iím using a mount on the bar on the clutch side held on by zip ties. The location youíre using looks a lot more secure .
