Hi guys,
I'm new to Ducs. Just going to buy one and I'm looking for advice/suggestions. What do you think is better to get 996 (2001 with very low miles) or 999 (2004 with 4k mi)?
And if it 996 what is good deal for it?
Thanks a lot.

I'm from West Suburbs of Chicago (e.g., Oak Brook/Elmhurst/Villa Park/Lombard/Downers Grove/Glen Ellyn). Love to go on rides and it will be great to know each other.

In the North Suburbs. Not riding that much on the street this year. Possibly up for a ride Saturday morning for two or three hours.

Other than that, doing track days to get my fill.

Hi everyone, name's Bill and live in downtown Chicago now. New to Ducatis (had a GSX-R600 before). Wondering where you guys went to buy your Ducatis, I am looking to pick up a white 848 at the end of this month/early next month. Any input would be appreciated, sold the gixxer and now an itching to ride.

in chicago land i wouldnt go any where other than MCC in Villa Park. They are the nicest guys, and they know the euro bikes better than anyone. Power motorsports is 3mi from my house and chicago cycle center is 4 miles from my office, and yet i chose to drive 22mi on 355, battling construction and traffic to go to MCC. I think that says alot about them.

Ah cool, I bought my gixxer at CCC... Don't know why I went there to be honest. I'll definitely check out MCC when I get back. BTW where in BG are you from? I use to live in Long Grove.

I go to Power. They have always treated me great, and the Mechanic there is Ducati certified and has his Desmo certification.

I'll have to check them out too, seems like the general opinion is to not go to CCC. Thanks for the info

Ah cool, I used to be right at 83 and 22. I am still in that area a good bit, we should ride sometimes (hopefully I'll get my 848 by July).

I bought my 1098 from Power and also a few weeks ago a Hyper... I think as you saw yourself... the trend goes away from CCC... I was there last year and the sales person knew less than nothing...

well good luck getting your bike...

I wouldn't say that CCC is a bad place. You have to remember that every place is different. They may not be the best group of people, but there are some people who work there that are pretty cool. Sad to say that I bought my 848 from there. I did not get the best deal. But what can I say.... I didn't feel like shopping for the best price. You also have to remember that like 50 or 60 different people work there not all is bad.
