My Triumph Daytona 675

So the 848 has a TON of mileage on her and is in need of new bearings and bushings all over and I don't have the time nor patience to do this riding season (I should have got it all done during the winter but we didn't really get winter and I kept riding through it) so I went out and bough myself another motorcycle to add to the other 5 I own. I chose the Daytona cause it's a frikin awesome bike!! It's a 2015 in Diablo Red which is ironic as my first Ducati was pearle white instead of traditional Red and my first Triumph is Red rather than traditional.....whatever Triumph is traditionally!! Enjoy!!
First day home

Most of the mods done to it. Some carbon, some billet, some decaling some bits removed etc etc etc!! Taylormade exhaust.

The suspension will be sorted soon as will the fueling and addition of Brembo calipers and then I think I'm about done.

I got a lot of chassis/geometry numbers if you ever need help setting it up. I spent the last two years building a 675R for a friend of mine and the thing is awesome. Laser sharp on the track and really reliable. I've abused the living shit out of it pretty bad on the track and it keeps on coming back wanting more! Look like I'll be riding it full-time next year as the owner just told me 20 min ago he's gonna buy an R1 and will be riding that. SCHWEET!!!! Can't wait!

Congrats on the purchase.

It's my place of employment. I work at a performance motorcycle shop. Well ok I do it full time during the busy season and take the other 5 months off to play.

Tye I'll pick your brain when the time comes. I'm enjoying the Kayaba suspension so far but am looking in to K-Tech for upgrades. Already have a pair of M4's kicking around for it and BrakeTech has a big rotor kit I like.

I'd do the Íhlins cartridges and shock, we tried K-Tech and couldn't make the stuff work.

Nice [email protected]! What made you go with the Taylormade exhaust?

It's been awhile since I've seen one of those. A friend of mine had one on her GSXR600...sounded pretty mean and I liked that it was somewhat hidden...don't know anything about performance or weight though.

The weight is 9lbs less than stock. The Triumph is the only Taylormade that uses a dual stage muffler to bring it down to 94Db's with the insert in and 102 with it out. It has a very deep growly tone due to the triple engine. The shop I work at is a Taylormade retailer so I get excellent pricing and Taylormade is the only brand that make the carbon filler panels for both sides of the belly.

Performance boasts 5hp with a simple tune but it's the weight savings I was looking for. It does look the job though.

Regarding exhaust, I just noticed that it comes with the exhaust on the right side as stock! When did that change?? They always used to have them under the tail.

Triumph completely re-did the bike in 2013. Larger bore, shorter stroke, higher rev limit under slung exhaust, titanium valve train, redesigned engine, light weight wheels. lighter subframe and completely different bodywork. There's more but the HP and torque was raised and handling improved.

Yep....those are badass bikes, and if I were racing today, it'd be a prime candidate!

It'll be getting some track duty at the Ridge shortly. Can't keep this one off the track. Did a run up Mt Baker today and it's so smooth in the corners. The balance is so nice on it and suspension absorbs nicely.

Nice one [email protected] I like the Daytona.

I actually had a long test-ride on one before I bought my 1098, and quite liked it.

Plus I had Triumphs before I got Ducatis. Swapped my tasty Bonneville for my 750 Sport in 1974.

I hope you get a lot of fun out of it.

And of course Tye knows all about them as well! Lucky you!

Francesca is ok with things. She's a mature and experienced woman and knows that experience makes up for enthusiasm at times. I think she's going to get a complete make over while taking time off.
