Anyone going to WDW2014?

And do you want to be our eyes on the street for the new Scrambler?!

The way that I read their deets about the release of the Scrambler, is that WDW2014 participants will get an EXCLUSIVE look at it.

We are going to have to wait until people post photos, and then when Ducati releases the info after WDW.

I HATE waiting!

I should have been arriving in Bologna and picking up my hire car in a few hours. Instead I'm sitting at home post operation because i need stitches out on Friday and a follow-up with my specialist. Very unhappy about that, but can't be helped.

My sister is there ( she'll be running the Ducati 'pub' again this year if anyone's going ) so I'll ask her to get me some pictures. I'll also see if i can get the release early and have something ready to post, although it will be under embargo for a while.

Ok bike's still under wraps tonight. I have two people on the job re: pictures and possibly some video. So at least there will be something here that will be unique and not the same pictures everyone will be sharing once it hits social media.

Just have to discuss commercial usage rights ( I joke )

Sorry. Bike ( which was a prototype still ) remained observable inside the yellow containers by 8 people at a time and there were strictly no photographs allowed.

Guess they learned a lesson from the Superlegerra because that one really pissed 'em off.

We spent all day at the track on Friday, checking out the bikes

And since I had no hat I had to get a bandana which meant I felt able to bring myself to sit on this

Friday night we hit the town

And then did one of the organised rides on Saturday morning

Unfortunately the number plate on Tim's D16 fell off and he got stopped by the police. Once it was fixed with some tape at a local garage, the ST2 wouldn't start so Mrs H and Papa Louigi diverted from their route to San Marino and came to the rescue in the hire car. Here they are having a quick drink before Louigi breaks out the tools - you can see the smile of anticipation on his little face!

Finally we all got to San Marino and had a cracking lunch and the obligatory ice cream whilst enjoying the views

More beers back at the hotel and then on Sunday Mrs H had a go on a Monster and I had a session on track.

Finally on Sunday night we went out to a nice fish restaurant

and then stopped for lunch in Bologna on our way back to the airport today.

Anyone going to WDW2014?

Anyway, enough about our trip ... What about the Scrambler? Here we are waiting to see it.

We weren't allowed to take photos, but of all the artist impressions I can find on the net this is the closest - though of course the real bike will use the 796 L-twin. The bike we saw was still clearly pre-production. We weren't allowed to sit on it because we would've broken it! It had a single front disk (unsurprisingly) and was painted classic Scrambler yellow. The seat was a little thicker than the picture below (but it was still VERY low) and the bars were higher. It looked like a fun little bike - great for round town.
