If the 1198 has T/C that could be an issue, extra sensors, loom, not sure about dash.

There is a "tip over" switch available, I am not sure if you must have a Microtec 197 for fitment...
But Mark Sutton @ the DucShop has mentioned the item, also Larry Zullo @ Motocorse has talked about the availability. I am installing one this off season.... for sure. Ducati motors do not like being on the ground, on their left side, while the engine is running. Instant death to the rod berings, through oil starvation. May not show up for a 1000 miles of use,.... but it is done!!! Right side tip overs, not so bad!!!

Bob, so the Microtec needs a separate sensor for the tip over to work?
I see on the Microtec config page there is a Drop switch that can be switched on or off, is this the one for tip over? I assumed the tip over function was built into the ECU?

Not totally sure about all the details, but I have talked to Mark and Larry Zullo (Motocorse) so I know it is available. Seems like the cost was 2 to 3 hundred and plug in. I am getting one in the next few months, so I will know more soon. In the meantime, if you need it sooner, you know who to contact....

Yeah I have just sent him a email so I will let you know if I find anything out. Cheap insurance at $200/300 if that's correct.

Looks like gotta find our own tip switch and wire it in to the Microtec.

What you say makes sense and should work. The Microtec ECU has a setting for a tip switch and can be switched on or off at will.

Can you stick your meter on the wires and tip or roll the switch over to check it's just a simple on/off switch for me please?
