Will a 2007 Ducati Monster S2R 1000 Bi Posto rear wheel fit a 99 996? I am looking to upgrade to the 5 spoke and get rid of these 3 spoke boat anchors.

This is my first Ducati so I don't know too much about them yet.

Thanks!

Yep, the SSSA monsters use the same 4 pin wheel from the superbike hub.

Yea, those 3 spokes are boat anchors, the 5 spokes aren't much better unfortunately. I ran 3 spoke magnesium's and they were MUCH lighter then the 5 spoke cast wheels from the later gen superbikes/monsters. If you want a light wheel, ya gotta go with forged and thats hard to find for cheap money.

If you are changing just for the weight savings, I don't think it is worth it unless you get the wheels for very little. Usually the cost / benefit is not that much.

You can get new front OZ Forged aluminum wheel for about $700. The rears a little more.

The OZ forged aluminum weigh less than 3 spoke magnesium wheels and about the same as 5 spoke magnesium wheels - much lighter than the cast 5 spoke aluminum wheels - and a huge difference in overall performance from the 3 spoke OEM wheels.
