Thinking of installing a quick release aftermarket gas cap to my 1098. Upon inspection under the stock cap there seems to be a rubber grommet looking piece that leads to a vent that appears to run through the inside of the tank. Apparently this rubber piece deforms under pressure allowing pressure to escape thru the aforementioned vent. My question is that most of the aftermarket caps vent via a thin plastic tube that usually exits to the atmosphere thru a vent hole in older tanks. Anyone installed one yet? If so how did you vent the cap.
