Well, I was going straight and they were turning left. They gave me about 15 feet to stop.

I have a shattered scapula and three broken vertebrae. There's no spinal cord injury, but I have a long road ahead. It was nice talking with you all.

Dang, sorry about your accident.

Cages are a motorcyclists worst nightmare. I always assume, if there is a car slowed down ahead of me going the opposite direction, that their intention is to cut me off. Its almost impossible to properly judge location/speed of a motorcycle in a cage at night. Heck, even in the day, accidents like this happen probably every few minutes throughout the world.

Heal up and get a better helmet next time around! :D

Get well Sir. I've been to that place in life back in 1988, similar situation with a car and nowhere to go... after getting healed up, 24 years and 9 bikes later, I may be there again, but I hope not. If I dig deep down inside, I know she's just a piece of metal sprinkled with some bits of plastic, but I also know that she's part of who I am and I hate to see her all twisted and scraped up. It takes a while to recover. You will.

I have at least 6-8 weeks of work to do.

I'm done with streetbikes after this one. I'm hoping that I'm not destroyed mentally for racing.

Thanks for the kind words all.

Sorry to hear of your accident. Take your time to heal - physically and psychologically. These things take a toll above what is obvious.

Focus on your rehabilitation. Funnel the natural anger following such an event into getting yourself as well as possible.

It's the best response to the unfairness of the accident. Many of us have been there..

sorry to hear but glad your alive and ok, take it easy and get yourself healed and don't be a stranger around here. if you feel up to it, buy the bike back from insurance and turn it into track bike or part it out, give you something to do during recovery.

best wishes

Speaking of helmets, here is mine from a recent 165mph get off, knocked me out for a long time. Check out the inside, those are full penetration cracks in the protective foam. The front of the Shoei X12 just had the face shield blow off!!!
