I have the base 1098 with the full race system, I'm racing next weekend and will have to be noise tested, limit 105db. Has anybody with a similar fit tested it for noise? Cos it sounds damn loud to me!!!!! :drummer:
Get yourself a small handheld DB meter. They range in price from $200 to as cheap as $30. One affordable model to mention is the Scosche SPL1000 which can measure between 60 and 130DB. Used by car audio enthusiasts, It sells for around $30, and is available through many Scosche retailer, one of them being WalMart (in the car audio dept). The unit is small, easy to use and pretty darn accurate....
I forget where i read this, but i thought that the termi slip ons with out the db killer were rated at 102db. not sure about the full system, although i wouldnt think that they would be too much louder. If they dont meet the requirements couldnt you modify the db killers to flow more? Thats kinda silly that there are noise regulations for racing. :wtf: :jerkoff:
