I have a 2013 1199 S. wondering if anyone else has had an issue with the bike sounding like its sputtering and back fireing at idel and while riding? I'm sure its not a fuel issue as I use premium and add octane boost.
any info is as always greatly appreciated.

Try running just straight pump fuel without octane boost

i am not saying this is your issue but my 1098 began backfiring. it progressively got worse. finally i found the issue. the midpipe was cracked at one of the mounts near the rear set. replaced the pipe and poof, fixed.

Pull your smog system. This can cause it if you have an aftermarket exhaust. Also, check all your connections, cold air getting in the exhaust can cause this just like with finepooch.

Ill tuning can cause it too. 1199s are known for being lean from the factory.
