So just curious, performance wise, track and road use. Which is better? I've read a few articles on both bikes both are pretty amazing and well beyond my skill level on the track but was wondering what you guys think.

Are you talking about the current 1199R ?
I think the 1299 is a better bike for the street but the 1199 R better track bike . Both great bikes

Based on the current information and ownership, I agree with above statement.

The 1199R is probably what you want on the track, the 1299S is well-suited for street use.

Both are fit for road and track duty though .. and can handle anything most people can throw their way.

2013/14 R is a sweet street bike. I've done mostly commuting on mine with an occasional sunday rides. This bike is far above my 1199 Tricolore! Don't know about how well the 15 R will handle these duties, but I hope to soon find out. My R's don't see track as I have a killer track bike!
