Hi all,

Looking for some help with understanding the value of this bike here are some of the specs:

-Fuel injected 904 cc engine
-design by Massimo Tamburini
-serial number 00040 (supposedly on 300 imported to US)
-autographs in paint :Doug Polen and Eraldo Ferracci
-Ferracci mods including complete large bore exhaust system)
-a little over 9500 miles on bike

My girlfriends parents recently acquired this bike and dont know much about it and or the value. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Photo of the bike is attached below. Thanks so much.

Ah, the first failed attempt by Ducati to get into the Sports Tourer market. Didn't last long. Was not very popular then and not so much today. The ferracci mods don't make it particularly special. They were added by the dealer along with the signatures and the erroneous 's' in the title.

Most recent one sold at auction in the UK went for £2500 including buyer's premium of 25%. That's about $ ( sorry read my next post, made my calculation in the wrong direction, it's $4200) at the current exchange however it's probably not the market value over there. I'd expect it to fetch something similar in dollars, i.e. $4500. There may be some love for them in the US though, who knows? In Europe it's not loved and not much sought after.

Sold very poorly although i understand they are a fairly decent ride when you consider it's age. The good thing to come out of it was when they scrapped this hideous beast the production line was converted to start production of Ducati's best selling model ever, the Monster.

£2500 is north of $4,200 if we are talking US dollars.

I just bought a 1762 pocket watch from the UK and was astounded at how much the US dollar is sucking :/

Quite right, sorry, a few beers and I was doing my calculations the wrong way given that's what I'm normally doing ( dollars to pounds rather than the other way around ). Yes, $4000 seems way nearer the mark. My apologies.

It's in Arizona. As far as I know everything is up to dare on the bike. I have more photos I could upload.

You can edit previous posts if you want to correct something :) Please upload more photos because it won't do you any harm and we are all slaves to Ducati porn. Even the fat old ones ;)

If you get interest in the bike and do indeed intend to sell then don't be rushed. Don't go to auction though ( real auction I mean, not ebay ) as you'll be fleeced on fees at this level of price. She looks mint.
If there are fans in the US it could go easy north of 5 grand. Stand your ground and learn the market, even if that means listing it on ebay with a stupid reserve, swallowing the listing fees, just to determine the market and understand a realistic price. Then you can decide if you really want to sell and list it again with a mind to sell. Good luck. Not my cup of tea but she's really well kept. I'd happily write an ebay listing for you.
