my ducati starts then shuts off put a fuel pressure gage on it it says 40lbs when i turn the key on starts up and then dies the fuel gage says almost 0lbs what could it be and if its the fuel pump how do i access it

my ducati starts then shuts off put a fuel pressure gage on it it says 40lbs when i turn the key on starts up and then dies the fuel gage says almost 0lbs what could it be and if its the fuel pump how do i access it forgot to mention i can here the fuel pump on initial turn on and when i press the start button it comes on but i lose pressure
