2007 1098s HID issues

Hello,

I installed a set of 55W 5000K kit to my 1098s for low and high beam.

The low beam seems to be working fine, after I checked the high beam the fuse would blow.

I check the fuse (15amps) and replace it a couple of times just to make sure that was the issue and it would blow every time the high beam was on.

I think is because I installed a 55w ballast...
I purchase a 35w kit and it has not arrived yet.

any advice?

A lot of people had the 55W with no problems. You might want to double check your wiring and see if any of your wire terminals are touching. I know that some companies don't supply you with the correct terminal plug but rather just spade terminals. When those touch together they could definitely blow the fuse

In this case I would only check the terminals for the high beam?

Sounds logical, since that is when the fuse pops.
I checked all the wiring.... Still blowing the fuse.
All wires come with male/female terminals. It is almost imposible to mix them.

My horn fuse also was blown.
definitely a wire touching somewhere. Check your wires and check them again is really all I can suggest.

Best option now would be plugging back in all the stock headlights and see if any fuse blow. If not, the proceed with one hid, check, and then proceed with the second hid, check again.
switch the ballasts from side to side. Does the problem persist? Or does it now blow the fuse as soon as the lowbeam comes on?

Well, if it your fuse blown again with 35w after install go to Toyota buy Halo H11 6000k, no more fuse blow work same as HID or plasma light.

I am going to try this and let you know...
Thanks for your advice.

If you are meaning a stock halogen bulb with tint to replicate 6000K color, then I would be surprised to see the light being as bright as HID. In fact I would think it would be even less bright than stock light bulb unless the wattage is increased. At that point, a oem halogen bulb with equivalent wattage would still be brighter than a tinted one

I have never heard of plasma lights either!

You can go on eBay type hid plasma then you see what I was talking about
Alright, problem was solved.

I changed the ballast and bulbs from 55w H11 to 35w H11.
They both (high/low beam) worked without blowing my fuses.

:)
I ripped the HID kits out of mine and went LED. Same brightness but no scatter etc. and instant on off from the high beam if you ever wanna flash anyone.
