That was info he got from a dealer at the beginning of April.......so I would doubt whether it has any basis in reality.
lol, Yeah, I know. My quote was decidedly tongue-in-cheek.

the new and improved ECU

So maybe an ECU update and I guess that's it?
So it's 26 changes to the ECU? Will that be enough to stop 1098s with OEM exhaust from stalling?

I just talked to Spectrum motorsports in Irvine California, they just got their 2008's in the showroom. They told me there was no change from the 2007 model with the exception of a $1,000.00 price increase. They quoted me $18,563.00 OTD for a 2008 1098 base

I purchased my 08 from them 7/24. So far I can't tell any changes except the price increase and I think they changed the firmware in the ECU. I've got 185 miles on the bike and no stalls yet!

Never got any a single stalling with my bike, but as I know only the ECU is the difference and the price.
Sounds right and the same goes for me. I had my standard with the stock exhaust stall once in the first 700 miles.

hi everyone...i'm new here! i plan on buying my 1st ducati next spring. i'm a bit thrown off by the '08s arriving so early.

anyway, i'm in canada, but i'm just curious what the U.S. list price was on 2007 model 1098's. the press release lists the 2008s as: 15,995 and 19,995 (for the S). is this a $1000 price increase? i'm wondering what the increase will be on our 2008s and maybe it's better to grab a leftover 07 if possible!
