Hi. First thing thanks for the info on the steering issue. I can't believe what a difference new tires make for steering when the old ones look ok. Anyway, I am having difficulty starting warm or cold engine. I don't know if there is a trick or need the $$$ service. 15000km, I just bought the bike and there is no dealer within a 1200miles. Always takes a few tries to start. 1 no throttle I smell fuel then turn key off twist to half throttle then starts in 3 to six seconds. I do not know the history so question is will valve adjust cause this or would it be electronic injection issue. Any ideas would help before I call a dealer. Thank you

I'm no guru but last time I adjusted the valves and changed the plugs on my 1198 it started a lot better. Worth checking out in my opinion. Of course a good overall service is probably a good idea anyway. You being so far from a dealer I would invest in a proper workshop manual and tools. That's what I had to do when I moved to a small island in the pacific.
