So I purchased a new motor and everything's all fine and dandy now. But I'm sitting on this old motor. All I can tell you is that I believe it is a broken push rod. Engine has 25k miles on it and before giving out on me it never gave me a problem. Could be a relatively inexpensive fix could be junk? Willing to part out as well. Make me an offer.

Pull the valve covers off and see what the push rods look like. If a rocker is lose you could fix it easy.

Also what were its symptoms before you pulled it? Backfiring at all?

Push rod? I thought these used timing belts and overhead cams with opener and closer arms. Something get lost in the translation? Connecting rod?

Before I took it out I drained the oil and I can't tell you how much metal came out with it. Sad day.
