24,000KM desmo service

Hi all, I have 2011 Monster 1100 Evo due it's 24,000km desmo service. Purchased bike at 23,000km and all well. Have noticed in the last 300km of riding that the bike has developed a loud ticking/clicking sound from the front of the engine. Noticeable when idling but also under load. Around 3k rpm through top end it is quite loud.

Is this potentially due to valve clearance being out, which will be checked in the desmo service?

Power seems to be OK however being new to the bike would not be aware if it has lost power.

I understand Ducatis are inherently noisy however due to the noise it is slightly concerning to a new Ducati owner.
