Well, I did this little $24 fix a couple weeks ago, but didn't have pics then, so incl' them here. Went to Checkers and picked up a turbo heat blanket, 8" x 24" IIRC. Cut it into smaller panels; removed the rear tank bolt and slide panel one under the tank, cutting the hole for the bolt and then zip tie to subframe; panel two zipped as well etc. last panel rather than removing the tail just slid it up under the tail section. A little bit of heat still comes around the sides b/w the shield and tail fairing, but not much at all. Temp inside the storage area is much much cooler now.

I also dropped off my passenger rearset hangers to my buddy in Denver who shaved the cargo hooks, smoothed out the casting flash and then powder coated the bracket and peg in high-gloss wet black, then reassembled. If I had washed the Duc you'd see it matches the subframe very nicely, but I rode home through a thunderstorm and getting ready to ride back to work through another one!
