Hi all,

I am finally ready for my 600 mile service. Problem is that the nearest Ducati dealer is 150 miles away. We have a local shop that is very experienced with Ducati's and, in fact, sell/service many of them but they are not an actual Ducati Dealer.

My question is do I have to get my first service done at an actual dealer or can I have it done at this local shop without causing any warranty issues, etc?

Thanks!

Absolutely. There is a local shop by me that isn't an authorized dealer and they won't even touch your bike while it's under the factory warranty.

My understanding is that, if something goes wrong in the future, Ducati would have a stronger agrument for voiding your warranty IF the problem was related to something that would have been covered during the first inspection.

Plus the fact that I am pretty sure you need that special Ducati PC thinger to reset the service warning as well.
