They are interchangeable. They used pretty much the same frame on the 848,1x98 and Streetfighter. I believe the Streetfighter 1098 got a bit more rake and a longer swinger but the stem and triples were all the same. The Streetfighter 848 uses the same swinger and frame as the regular 848. A few less tabs on the Streetfighter frame but same dimensions.

Nope, the stem on the 848 is longer than the 1x98.

Ran into this problem when I installed Attack 30 mm offset triples on my 2008 848.

Interesting. The forks still fit which is the main thing.
Yeah, it's longer by about 15 mm (IIRC) on the 848 and the steering stops are different. Also, the early (2008) 848 didn't have the tab on the top right tube for the steering damper. Otherwise, you are correct, the 848, 1x98 frames are all the same.
