hey guys so i decided to do a single sided swing arm conversion from a 848 and put it on my 749. I've always loved the look and was pretty upset when they didn't do it for the 749/999, so i figured il do it myself! heres little of what I've done so far. i had a lot of help from the guys who did it already. all i need to do is weld a new header :yo:

That is the hardest part! You can use a stock 848 header it will be 57mm which will be too big for a 749 but it will save you a ton of time. I've been messing with an equal length system for quite a while and almost have it done but if I had it to do over again I would have used an 848 Oem set up. Don't get me wrong It will still be a pain with the Oem stuff but it will work. I tried a bunch of options. I had a termi 57 mm system on my 999s and tried to modify that but it just wouldent work, then I tried a zard 999 un equal set up and no dice so I built my own. If you want to go that rout which I don't recommend, you can get the manifold flanges from SPD :: Mandrel Bends
They are great! They also have .035" wall mandrel bent tube which is what I used . Not many company's bend that in 2.25" Id tube (57mm) good luck drop me a line and I'll send you some pics if you want

thanks everyone!! i actually have the entire 848 rear swingarm, wheel and suspension on there. it all fit in just needed to play with the bushings alittle to get it to fit. i need to put the new chain on and get her ready to get the exhaust welded on =) the rear header hits the new shock so i have to come in at a different angle to bypass it.
