Which manual desmos or the OEM ( I have both)?I already have a manual i downloaded so will use that for reference along with youtube videos. I thought the belts had to be replaced every 2 years regardless? Its a 2012...
The one i have says "duc.nu" at the top right of all the pages. If you wouldnt mind sharing what you have shoot me a pmWhich manual desmos or the OEM ( I have both)?
Well I've heard it go both ways but I really will depend on if they look good I guess, to be safe you can change them. I'd differ this to more experienced members maybe Pat?
I've had 2 belt failures 1 was an OEM issue the other I believe was from me not tightening them enough. The first time I got lucky the second time it was ugly...

I know the turning tool works (and at the bottom it says all superbikes).Ducati engine turning tool or crank shaft turning tool.
cam holding tool that fits a Ducati 749 999 998 testrastretta
Those do not say they are compatible with 848 but they look like the same exact tools and are WAY cheaper. Will they work?
If you are going to keep the bike investment in tools can be 300-600 (depending on what you already have and where you shop)TChase, did you notice how much you saved by doing this service yourself? I'm contemplating whether to do it myself or take to the nearest duc shop. How was your experience?

In truth I like to do it but I also like to know it's done right. I blew up my 2012 evo engine at the track and in the back of my head I ask did I miss something (partially tightening the belts I will never use the tone method again go by feel). I got 7k miles after my service before my engine blew so I don't think it was me more to the fact I was lazy and didn't check the belts.
I will be doing my 7500 service on my (new used) engine soon. Not sure if that answers your questions![]()
