I have an accessory book, but no scanner. You can also go to ducati website, register, and view it online!

I was thinking of getting a damper, I woud like to have a Scotts or GPR rotary damper, but I dont see any made yet. The other option is the factory Ducati damper, but it is twice the price, not that that is an issue, safety doesnt have a price.

yep, seen the actual damper but no pic of the "848" mounting bracket... I hear the mounting bracket is about $100-130.

I see that GPR has a damper listed for the 1098... no pics of it mounted either... but it might fit the 848, just depends if GPR used the 1098 damper frame mount or is using a universal mounting bracket...

I think I will email Scotts in the next week and see what they have in the works for the 848. I hear that the Scotts is better than the GPR, but thats all hear say?

I have had both Scotts and GPR Dampers and they were both the same in my opinion. The GPR was easier to adjust on the fly and now they have even more settings. Both have lifetime rebuild which is nice if you do a lot of track days or race.

i already called scotts and they said that they did not have any intentions of making a damper for the 848.....gpr had no real answer.. if you look at there website they dont even have the correct years.. it says 1098 06-07 .... i have used the gprs and scotts as well and i prefer the gpr for easier on the fly adjustability...

my plan, if it works... buy the mounting bracket only ($100-$130), then buy a ohlins damper from Dan Kyle ($350)... so the total out of pocket would be $450-$480 instead of $750+

Anyone installed an 848 damper yet... still looking for some pics to see if it will work with the ohlins.

I am a little confused! The accessory book doesn't label any other bracket to work with the 848, so I was wondering why you felt that the 1098 bracket would work when there is no welded brace on the trellis frame to attach a damper. If this was the case you could attach the oem damper from the 1098.

I want to see if the "848 specific mounting bracket" will work with the ohlins damper. But without actual pics it will be hard to determine if it will work... the DP 848 damper and the Ohlins damper look like they have the same / very simular dimensions. Plus, if it does work you get a "proven" damper for hundreds less

The one thing that was obvious to me from the start was that the 1098 and 848 top clamp are different, thus a different damper application. I still have not seen a picture showing how the damper attaches to the trellis, and still not sure how it attaches to the top clamp.
