I went riding to see if I could further diagnose the issue with my wife's 848. From around 5.5k to 6.8k the ignition sounds like it is breaking up.

I came back and pulled DTC with ducati diag. I recieved a P0351 primary secondary circuit malfunction.

Can anyone explain what this means besides bad primary coil/open circuit/ground. Any experience with this and where to begin?

Checking hertz at the PCM/ECU side there is a signal between 120-125 on both connectors on the brown/white wire.

Sounds like you may have a failing coil stick.

If it's the front cylinder, try pulling it out of the head and check for water ingress. If the seal isn't greased and it rides in heavy rain or gets jet washed, some can creep past the seal and cause a short.

If it's consistently at the same revs I reckon the coil is breaking down.

Spoonz there was definitely some water ingress. It actually fogged up my socket!
