Not doing a Pani tail swap but something very similar. I've cut my tail back to the solo cowl using it's point as the tip of the tail. I had a pair of angled tip Graves mufflers that I cut 3" off a few yrs back and took an inch off each connector pipe to bring it right under the tail. Took about 4-5" off the length of the tail. Just need to install a tail light and get some mesh to cover in the back.

Pics to follow.

I think it would be nice to have a narrower tail, BUT what are you going to do with the exhaust cans? They are a little "fat" or wide. Ive thought about it also but my termis are wide.

Well the first try wasn't quite right but this one looks better. Complete rear subframe and bodywork from an 848 Streetfighter. Just gotta tuck the wiring back up and make an undertail for it.

Sorry about the blurry pic. Will get better ones tomorrow in the sun.

I like it. I was originally going that route with my 848 Superbike but I wanted to maintain the undertail exhaust and after seeing a couple of Pani's with undertail exhaust, I changed my mind. I wanted something shorter and narrower than the original Superbike bodywork but wanted the same basic shape. The Streetfighter bits did the trick.
Here's some better pics of the project. It's rideable again but still needing some clean up and paint.

I REALLY like it on the street fighter... Mixed feelings about it on the 848 superbike... But it's really impressive that you were able to fabricate that.

Could just be the color I don't like though... How come you didn't go with the pearl white?

And I like the white decals on the black belly.

DO like the shorter SF on the bike [email protected], Hm..not sure about the pani tail on the SF, did not flow with the straighter line on the bike vs curvy lines of the tail. unique for sure.
I completely agree. It's the main reason I scrapped the idea of fabing the Pani subframe and tail on the 1x98/848. I wanted it to be subtle. I've had people ask me if I put fairings on a Streetfighter or Streetfighter tail on a Superbike. I've had others sit there and ponder trying to figure out what's different. Some don't know anything is different.
