I've been doing some reading on the various Termi kits offered for the 749/999. Opinions vary and it appears there is some speculation that suggests Termi made a Ti race exhaust for the bike.

My vertical header pipe has that distinguished blue tone that you get with Ti piping so curious if this could be true.

Anyone have experience/knowledge?

I didn't think there was a Ti version...

Titanium exhausts are generally not reflective like that exhaust, which is probably stainless.

Edit: BTW, there are two versions of that exhaust, that's gotta be the race version, it's awfully fat.

Looks like what I have, which is stainless. Its blue, because thats where the heat is at its hottest point exiting the engine.

It also doesn't have that 'ping' that a Ti system makes when you tap it... subjective, I know...

Ha, good question.

It has 1200 miles on it - I obviously don't ride it. Therefore, I either:

(a) sell it for a reasonable price and let somebody that actually collects these things maintain status and enjoy it as a fixed ornament (with the odd outing); or
(b) Make the decision to ride it and never look back. I'm hard on equipment and this bike would be no exception. Up until now I have 'putted' around on it.

I'm actually leaning towards (b) but the wife is saying (a)...

Yes a full titanium system was made for the 999. The system in the picture is not one, though.
