Just picked up a set of black Acculign rearsets, and although it's not my first set of aftermarket rearsets for a Duc, it is the first time I've ever owned a set of Acculign's, and right off the bat - these things look bitchin on the 1098! Adjustability wise, these are way more accommodating than the DP units I had on my 996. Installation was a snap, which took like 20min. Feel and grip are on par to that of any race inspired rear set. Making adjustments is quick and easy, and best yet, you don't need a handful of tools to do so. The ONLY drawback, besides the $500 price tag, is that they do not come with a brake lever. You pretty much have to use your OEM one, our source another. From what I had heard, Acculign is going to release one, but I'm not sure if it's out yet. If anyone has some info on that, I would love to know. All in all, I'm quite happy with the set. They look, feel and perform great. Spare parts, if you ever need any, are also stocked and readily available, which is a HUGE plus.

Anyone else take the Acculign route???

I went the Sato route myself. I had them on my r6 and know I like the grip of their pegs - which is my main concern. Best to spend $450 and get what I know wil work for me - then $500 for something Im not sure.

These look great, and so do the Sato' - Ill take pics of mine when I get it back from the shop (600 mile service, belt tension, and termi tune).

Those Satos are real nice but how do you adjust them? Like on my 600RR there are a bunch of holes to position them up and back.

How do you do that with these?

Hard to tell from the photos, but there are multiple holes to use for the adjustable settings, for both the peg location, and where the bolts hold the plate that contains the peg and heel guards. There is quite a bit of adjustability available.

They are also exceptionally grippy, which I really appreciate, and lever operation is very smooth.

In the photo above, I have it set up for GP shifting, and installed the DynoJet QuickShifter, which is very cool. It allows clutchless full-throttle upshifts, working with the Power Commander to cut the power for a millisecond when you shift. I have one on my race 600, and once you use one, you never want to race without it!

2 ways there are 5 positions on the peg plate and 2 positions on the base plate, for a total of 10 different peg positions.
These pictures show it better.

Ive seen the gold - not on, but it wont match - that is why I chose black myself. I went gold on my pressure plate, and it doesnt match, but it least it will be under a black cover (same as the cover shown on the tri above but in black).

I was contemplating a stomp pad - the one on the tri looks pretty good, I may actually have to do it.

We Just installed Sato rearsets from Dan Kyle on both of our 1098 race bikes. We had some Acculines on one of the bikes which were ok but, the Sato's seem to suit us better for AFM road racing since the pegs have considerably better grip. Just ask Pat Blackburn of Trackside Moto, he's 2nd in the Open Twins Championship. Dan always has them in stock as well as spare parts if you need them. Give Dan a call.

What do you need "race inspired rear sets" for when you have 1 inch chicken strips on your tires? Sorry, couldn't resist. You left yourself out there on that one.
