Just wondering if anyone has installed Termi slip-ons themselves. Does the ECU have to be set up at a dealer or is it just plug and play? Does it mess up your keys etc?

Weather or not it is recommended, I installed mine at 150 miles I now have 650 and haven't had the ECU flashed/set up. I am scheduled to have my 1st service next week. I called the dealer before the install and the tech said I should have no trouble until the 1st service, which I have not.

I did not have any trouble. I do notice that the response of the throttle is not perfect though. When I rev/blip the throttle the increase in RPM is good but it lag's when it is dropping. Again I called the tech and he said not to worry, that he could smooth it all out when I brought it in. Take a look at the tech forum... Set up ECU, to switch from Euro version to US.

Good luck,

I did the install myself then took it in to my dealer to have the tps and co reset. It doesn't have to be done right away but recommended for the bike to run properly. I did reset the display from metric to standard after installing the new ecu. There was mention on another post here regarding resetting the keys to match the new ecu but I'm not sure that's needed. May want to ask your dealer when you take it in.

I had my cans on for weeks with out ecu, air filter, and o2 senser plugged.
Ran good, not any better than before. Had a chance to do a track day, but I did not have my tools to do anything but bot the ecu. It ran fat, but safe.
last weekend I had a chance to run on the dino at the dealer after setting the TP. Wow, the fuil air is FU. At 8000 rpm it was so fat it was off the chart, and started loosing HP.
I will now finish the job, and try for a new dino run.
BTW the dB killer were in. I wish I "they" had time to pull them for one more run with dBs out.
