Those do look nice and I too suffer from "buzz wrist" after 45 minutes or so. Can anybody stateside recommend a source for bar end weights? I'm in Chicagoland, and although Austrailia is a little far away from me, I WILL go there if I have to...

Oxford Carb End

Scroll to the bottom of the page: http://lockitt.com/AccessoriesGrips2.htm

These are the $hit, unfortunately they won't fit my HeliBars but I got something similar. And yes they help minimize vibration...two long rides yesterday with minimal issues.

Wasn't sure...

They protect the bar-end so that it both slides and adds more distance between your levers and everyhting else, and the ground. They help with vibration, personally verified, and look cool. (that's all I know)

Realistically I'm not sure how much they will help your bars in a fall...especially something like Helibars. I have them and they're prone to snapping in a crash.

So for me it's the look, minimized vibration, and best-case scenario they help in a crash. Not that I want to find out mind you!

It seemed I have purchase the same bar end (motobass?) but it does not fit. It seems the bar end size in 7/8". VISITOR Q - is yours 7/8"? if yes, any suggestions on installation?

bar ends

yes mine wouldnt fit up the bar either, so i machined 60 thou off the locating shoulder. if you dont have a lathe i suggest a quick trip to local machine shop, itll only take them a few minutes, (make sure they dont damage them in the chuck, use soft jaws )

Just my $.02, I highly recommend Throttlemiester bar ends. They are slightly heavier than most others(much heavier if you get the longer version)
so they really help with bar buzz, and if you do any kind of sport touring or commuting the throttle lock, "cruise control", feature comes in handy.
Last but not least they are very well made, the fit/finish and machining tolerances are second to none, plus you can get them powder coated or in
a decorative scalloped/machined finish.

Heavier bar-ends help abosrb vibration, which on twins aids in over-all rider comfort and control...
Well I am not sure if I noticed that or not but ok by me if it does.

The 1098s is my first twin, and the first thing I noticed was the numb wrist after 20ish minutes. I swung by the Duc dealer for my license plate and asked about bar ends. They sold me a set of Aprilia accessory bar-ends for about $15. I had to slice off about 1/2inch of the expansion sleeve but then they fit great. Took a short cruise and about 75%of the vibration feels gone. I may look into some different ones later, or paint these black or red, (they do look a little dildo-ish) but they work great for now.

I'm considering these, i'm pretty sure they will fit my 848.

Rizoma conical bar ends are great. Their expensive but they look great, reduce vibration, and they handled a lowside nicely. Just sanded down the road rash and repainted them black. I will definitely buy another set when I can stomach $60 for stupid bar ends.
