Bar Ends

Does anyone have an easy method of removing the bar ends form the 1098 without causing any damage. I have over the years had the Throttlemeister on my bike and found to love it. I am looking into purchacing them again for the 1098.

Does anyone currently have them on their 1098 now? Are they working good?

Thanks,

Don

I've used Throttlemeisters also and really need them on the Duc, unfortunately as far as i know they're not out yet.
Hopefully they'll make them in black.
Stock bar ends are worth the can anyway, replace them.

Ten-6, they do advertise them on the website. as being available for the 1098. I just cant't figure out how to grip the ends to remove the old ones.
Seriously, why would you want to keep the old ones???

What I did was to get a piece of auto Heater hose with a smaller inner diameter than the 7/8 and the friction on the rubber hose will be higher than the metal handle bar. with a little twisting back and forth, it comes off without a scratch.
I have them on my bike. After checking with the dealer"s tech, he informed me that the bar ID is the same as the 999. That's what I ordered and it works fine.
And yea, a rag wrapped around the bar end and some channel locks or vise grips will pull them right out. Just give it a twist while you pull.
Thanks guys. I will give it a go when the others arrive.
DonsR6... I would try a blow torch.
