Hi,
I had my 2009 848 outside for 4 months. Then it wouldn’t start. Replaced battery, now it finally runs but stalls at idle and makes weird sounds. The pipe smokes, back fires, and looks burning red inside both pipes. Any suggestions?

Bad fuel gumming up the fuel system or bad crank position sensor?

Outside in the summer?
Have you checked for wasp nests or mice?
The glowing red inside is the cats in the mufflers. (catalytic converters)

I agree as above change the fuel and plugs and put some injector cleaner through it,if it still is no good then look for a faulty part,good luck
