1098/1198/848 crew:

I've been sitting on it for a few months with frustration. Has anyone had issues with their bursig stand and aftermarket rearsets? I cannot use my stand with the woodcraft rearsets. The adapter plate does not clear the shift lever and will not allow the bottom peg to insert fully into the bottom frame tube. I'm sure the knock off bursig would have the same issue.

Also, anyone know where to find the lockdown/adjustment rod? Mine bent because it was missing one of the locking nuts.

I've received no tech support response from emails to bursig either.

Have the (totally adequate) knock-off. Had to remove my CRGs (actually I think I could've gotten away with just the heel guards but I needed to completely re-position them anyway). It's only up on that stand to completely remove suspension. I use traditional front/rear stands normally, so not a huge deal for me.

The Citta Corsa stand clears the Woodcraft stuff but it's very close. But so was the stock footpeg, which was in the way as I raised and lowered the stand.

Also, I could use an extra frame insert/sleeve/nut if anyone knows where I can find one.

Yes, I checked the Bursig adaptor plate, not physically on the Bursig stand as it's got my Tuono on it at the moment, but with Woodcraft rear sets, I can get it to fit if I push the gear lever down. This is not something I could do while holding the bike with my left hand and trying to slip the Bursig on with my right..

Why haven't we evolved to have a third hand, can't think of how many times and extra hand would come in (sorry) handy.

I'll be trimming the Bursig adaptor to get the clearance.

Well I didn't trim my Bursig 1098 adaptor plate yet.

I mounted the adaptor on the Bursig Stand and managed to get the bike up on it with about 1/8" clearance between the stand and the Woodcraft rear sets.

I did loosen the shifter adjustment rod and moved the gearshift lever down a little

A bit of a bump I guess. Did the same to mate my updated model Bursig with the Sato rearsets.

Who made this thing? Space dwarves? :BoomSmilie_anim:

I took it to a friend with a machine shop (but no plasma cutter, which is how they made the damned thing). Finished off one of his big fiber wheels on a chop saw and put a solid dent in his coarse wheel but eventually won. Bursig must be repurposing steel meant for submarines.

He guessed its hot-chromium dipped based on the coloring for corrosion resistance. Seeing as how that is a controlled substance in the US Im guessing Ill just get an OTC corrosion inhibitor to paint the now bare surfaces with.
