Cost was a topic of conversation a while back. Look through this, it might help.

well i just went to one here in SD and they quoted me 16,700 OTD that 200 in gas to Northern cali is better spent on one I can get right here. My Nissan Titan would use 200 in gas half way there lol

didnt know there was one available. I honestly dont think I can justify spending more than 17k on a bike. Im not an avid track racer so this bike is mostly for pleasure and commuting. Track days maybe a couple times a year and thats it.

Why not buy a 2007 1098S with only 800 miles and has a slipper clutch and more for only $17,800 that is just like new with no blemishes and showroom condition shipped to your door?
I couldn't agree more 22. I picked up my 2007 1098S with full Termignoni, rear-sets, license plate kit, front stand, rear stand, LoJac and 6 year warranty for $17,000. Of course the warranty cost me $50 to transfer and LoJac wants $199 to transfer, so those'll cost me a bit more. oh..I forgot to mention, my bike only had 105 miles on it when I bought it. Used is always the cheapest way to go.

Used saves money for sure, but there is nothing like breaking in your own bike. Just bought my base 1098 in December and paid 17,800 otd with the license plate kit installed and included. Sure it wasn't the best deal, but couldn't wait to get it home so I bit. Loving every second on my bike, love it more than my wife already!!!!!

I paid 16 OTD for my 07 and the bike went up a G so yeah, I think that's a good deal.
