OK. I've had what I describe as a SQUEAL in my clutch when I pull a hole shot or put a high rev start into it. The squeal causes the clutch to slip and not respond as it should when you most need ot to.

I've posted this problem and a few other guys have said they had the same problem and after many trips to the dealer it was fixed by simply cleaning the clutch. I have a manual and have worked on WET clutches many times. I will do this myself but I have a querstion. If the clutch is to remain dry, what do you clean it with? Brake cleaner? Do the rings go back in 100% dry? No lube at all and no residue from cleaners??

Help me out here.

It's just like brake squeal from dust build up(like on drum brakes). Blow it out with an air hose(wear a mask). I wouldn't get to crazy with the break cleaner, you can wash grease away from bearings. If it's that bad pull the plates off and wash them.

Going to tear it apart

I have had the SQUEAL since the day I picked up the bike. It happened when I pulled out of the dealer. It only happens once in a great while but I can feel it in my hands as well when it happens. I'm pretty convinced from a long ago thread that there is and was something (grease, oil???) on one or more of the clutch plates from assembly and it caused a hot spot that cause a slip between plates.

I'm going to take it appart and inspect it. If there is a stain or abnormality on any of the plates I'll try to clean it with brake cleaner....if unsuccessful, I'll replace them. YA THINK????????????????
