So I got curious about my non-ABS model and converting it to ABS and I'm wondering what all I'd need. What got me curious was when I was navigating the menu there's an ABS option. It's grayed out and I'm unable to go into that option for obvious reasons. Would it be as simple as buying components separately and installing them to gain the ABS option? What components make the system up? Wheel sensors, brake lines, control unit, fuse/s...anything else?

You could do it . You need the ABS pump and lines sensors should already be on your bike for DTC you will also need the ABS Base Black box .
You will also need a lot of patience to bleed the system .

Ok I wasn't sure what happens with the sensors from DTC already. The black box is something separate from the control unit?

The one that sits in the rear sub frame . I'm not 100 % on the sensors but I only really recall one on the front and one on the rear .

Will the rotors not be different? Base would not have the Hall effect rings would they?

Yep it uses the same ring as traction control. The ring attaches to the rotor it's a $50 part .

It can be done.. some time, money, and patience are required.
