Fellas, I was looking into geting a Dark tint or Smoked visor, but I got to thinking....here in California we can't tint our front side windows, soooo can I use a tinted visor?

Anyone know?

I have never had a problem with a tinted visor and the Cops / po po/ 5-0/ the fuzz. But like every where else if they want to mess with you, they will !

I believe the tinted window thing is so cops can see into the car to make sure you're not pulling a gun, hiding drugs, whatever. As long as it's not dark out, they will give you no problems with a tinted shield.

The rule is that tinted and iridium visors are illegal to use during the night, but perfectly legal during the day. I have had 0 problems with iridium and tinted visors in california

I carry a pair of clear glasses in my pocket in case I am kept out past sun down. Good eye protection, and you can ride with the visor up.

I bought one of those light sensitive photo chromatic visors
for my helmet and found that they don't get very dark.
I exchanged it for a light tint visor which is about twice
as dark, and half the price!

sometimes...most of the time I'll use the clear shield with sunglasses because I'd rather be more insulated when the sun goes down and temps drop.
