Ok I am going to replace the sprockets and chain on the new bike. It is a 2004 999
I am thinking of going with the 525 chain 100 link
with 15t front and 43t rear
from my understanding the 43t will extend the wheelbase
giving me more stability at higher speeds as well
as giving me a good rpm for crusing on the highway and if i need to accelerate be in a good spot rpm wise
I am curious how do i calcualate the HP and Torque levels with this gearing and if you have any recommendations for chain and sprockets
I usually put JT sprockets on my bikes

Well.... imho.... you don't.
Why?
Because those figures are totally unaffected by gearing. Technically speaking.
But the perceived 'gains' will be at the expense of a 40km/h loss of top speed.

Assuming you are running OEM 15/36/96 setup, going to 15/43/100 will increase your wheelbase by 2mm.

15/43 is way too low gearing for a 999. You'll be raising your rpm in each gear by 1,000 rpm.

The only bike that would benefit from 15/43 is the 996 that unlike the 999 has a standard ratio gearbox.

The 15/36 999 is often changed to 15/38 98-links or its equivalent 14/36.

yes is jt the wrong ones
that is who i used on my r1 the cbr and the ninja 300
i am new to ducati so if that is incorrect then let me know
i was told that going to 43 rear sprocket would be the same as going to a 14t front but without the extra tension
on the chain
i am not sure i just want the best mileage i can get with a good powerband in mid range. I am not a top speed person i want a super strong mid range etc and a good start but i dont like too short of a first gear .
oh well maybe im asking too much

SOOOO
going to 15t 39t would give me a little better acceleration
in low gears and would keep me at about 150 for top speed correct
how would that make it for around time driving?
This will be my daily driver as I love to ride and dont mind the extra
upkeep to keep it in top condition
plus i will admit i am a poser i am not a squid i wear all my gear
but i love the look and feel of being a biker and definitely am sexed
up about having a ducati

Don't worry about top speed. Proper gearing for the street is all about keeping the engine rpm in the middle of a big fat torque curve using a mid-range gear.

Sounds like you're one of us. Welcome.
