Used some of my Christmas bonus $$$ to put some carbon on the bike. I got the CF from Shift-Tech. Thanks again guys. The pieces are perfect and look great. I also did the HID upgrade. I used a 6000k kit with the small ballasts and was able to get them under the front fairing. So the only thing you see under ender the dash is two wires going into the headlight housing. I also did one of my personal favorite mods and wired a garage door opener with a switch on the right clip on. Kinda like the Fan switch mod. The pics I took came out like crap so I'll only post the pics that came out. I highly recommend the garage door opener mod. $30 bucks for the opener and $3 for the switch and a little bit of wire and you're done.

Did you just solder two wires to the GDO contacts and then connect them to a switch? What kind of switch did you use? I have an opener mod—that works off of the hi-beam switch—on an extended back order from CycleGadgets.com, but I’m thinking of maybe cobbling together something on my own. Thanks.

Exactly. Just opened the opener up and soldered a wire to the contacts. Then ran the wire through the bike and soldered on the switch. The hardest part was was getting the blank plate to hold the switch and get back in the bike. But still not that hard. I used a momentary switch from Radio Shack. I'll put the link at the bottom of the post. But after finding the one on the website I might look for a different one. The one I used does not flow with the bike and looks added. I'm waiting for the night when I'm at a bike night and some kid asks me if that's the "NOS" button.

There is a guy I know that makes a delay for the HIDs so it does not draw power directly when the key is turn rather it delays about 5 seconds or so after the motor is running to draw powder and kick the lights on... It's a great idea!

Autoswitch garage door opener

Tired of trying to turn left into my driveway while reaching my gloved hand to my GDO mounted atop my hi-beam housing, I installed this little feller. Double-tap the hi-beams and the door goes up and down...
