Hello fellow ducatistas.
I bought my bike 6 months ago. Winter came in, but nevertheless I've put more attention to solving her failures than riding it.
I started my bike for the second time this spring to take it for a little spin when suddenly the dashboard was dead. In the middle of the ride. The bike, however, kept going.
I stopped it immediately when I noticed it to see if it is what I fear to be an expensive fix if it wouldn't start, but for my surprise it did start. It had some difficulties to fire up, but it did and had no problems other than no lights what so ever.
After letting it rest for few hours I started it again, this time it fired up like it has never been sitting around for the whole winter.
HOWEVER, no lights appear. Whether it's the black key or the red key, no dash lights up, no self-check, no needles running, no head-or taillights, ONLY the immobilizer light keeps blinking like nothing has ever happened.
I checked the fuses, I swapped the relays next to the battery. I tried some stuff with the red key that was suggested from the internet. I checked the wires coming from the immobilizer. Nothing. Everything seems to be in order.
Although before during that day I messed with the number plate light, but doesn't it sound awkward to say that the wires in the light went loose and connected with each other, which would pretty much put the bike in to the grave with one foot ?
Oh and the bike is '02 monster.
I probably should also say that I spent many many hours on google but eventually I ran out of new threads and no solution was found. They always suggested to check the battery first, but in this case, it obviously is not the problem.
I did read from somewhere about bad grounding, but I have no Idea how to find that grounding wire.
Well guys I'm really looking forward to get some advice from living ducatistas My dealership only seems to be thinking of money, so definitely not my first option.
Oh and i've completely fallen in love with this bike. It looks and sounds so badass that no human being can resist it.
Sincere apologies if anyone can find me a thread which can resolve my issue =(
