Hi all,

I recently purchased the Ducabike clear clutch cover kit for my 1299. I also got their pressure plate because I thought while I'm in there, why not?

Here's that piece: Ducabike Pressure Plate

My dealer says they should install that pressure plate because you need a special tool to hold the clutch together while you remove it. Is this true?

Here's the tool I guess they're talking about: HDP001-2 Panigale 1199 1299 Clutch Tool

Do you think that's really necessary or can I swap that pressure plate without it?

Thanks in advance!

U just want to reply the outside plate we're the springs are in holded?
Auto part Engine Vehicle Automotive engine part Car
For this u need a tool to push out the pushrod from the bearings and release it from the plate
Wich u can buy cheap in most tool shops
It's very easy to do

I bit the bullet and took off the stock pressure plate.

I used a mallet and medium-sized punch to get the rod and bearing out, and use the mallet to get it back into the new pressure plate.

Aligning the plate with the first two clutch plates (not sure the technical name for the first two plates) was a pain, but I finally got it. You also have to make sure to push it in hard to get all the plates sandwiched together nice and tight, and then reinstall the pressure plate springs and retainer.

Totally doable in the end, no special tools needed!
