Ah, it's being sold by Riverside...they're about 5 miles from my house and I know the parts people pretty well.

I agree that it does contradict the design of the bike but I don't mind when I'm doing a multi-day ride. Now that I've seen this tailbag, I have to decide b/w this or the DP tank bag....hmm.

Just received this bag in the mail this afternoon. It took a couple minutes to put on the back seat (that I'd never use) and then it just pops on when you need it. I used it today and I have to say I love it. I don't mind the looks at all and it's alot better than a back-pack, which I hate. It's not real big, but it's as big as a tank bag. It's well made, so for me it's what I was looking for.

I got one a few week's ago as well. Very good quality and functional. There are certain errands where it boils down to a decision to either take the bike with this thing attached, or take the cager. Bike wins!

Hint: Make the guy an offer for less than the Buy It Now price - that's what I did and he accepted my offer.

Hi all,
Looks great I have been contemplating getting a tank bag and knowing a tail bag is available is a great bit of info to know. Have you been on a long or fast ride with it yet, can you let me know how it makes the ride feel when you've got it on.

For now I use a Kriega back pack which I love. I can pack it, and it has a specific harness designed to shift the weight onto your hips and not your back or shoulders and at speed I don't even know I have it on. But I need a tank or back bag to put my camear gear in if I go on a multi day ride. You check Kriega out on www.kriega.com

Cheers

First thanks for the info on backpacks, I've been looking for something that distributes the weight. As for the tail bag, I couldn't even notice it on the bike. I becomes part of the back seat and is very rigid. I have loaded it with groceries and such and you can't tell it's there. You will need a pack as well for carrying enough for long trips but I think it replaces a tank bag that you can't help but know is on the bike. For me this is one of the best purchases for the 1098 I've made.

Cheers

No worries, happy to pass on good info. You should check the Kriega site out, loads of good stuff and even though I've been caught in torrential downpours whilst riding in Malaysia, the main compartment has stood up really well to water.

And you are right, you will need a pack as well as a bike bag and your comment has persuaded me that tail bag is the one to get.

Cheers. Jamil.

Monoog,

sorry didn't see you latest post.

I got the R35, the biggest one. Why because 35 Litres still isn't alot and even if you don't fill it up you can clamp it down real tight with the pull straps so it doesn't flap about even if its part full. It has main comparment, which stands well to water, it has some side pockets which are TOTALLY water proof and is adpatble. The harness is great you don't even know you have it on and the harness has two pockets in it which are handy for documents etc. like my passport, toll cards etc.. But the harness pocket isn't waterproof.

To be extra safe, I also got the US waterproof liner. And I got the neoskin helmet bag.

Try to find a dealer who sells them where ever you are living. It's a British firm and I'm living in Singapore and found a mountain bike shop selling the full range CHEAPER than what I would have piad if I bought them on line direct.

Anything else just feel free to ask.

Hello, not to drift off but did any of you guys has checked www.axio-usa.com for tailbags? I purchased one for my monster and I have to say, it's great; it has a hard top and it comes in different colors, even in CF look. Worth checking it out!

I designed them & had a local upholsterer make & install them. The internal straps are to make sure the external straps & D-rings are secured & don't escape to beat up the paint work on the tail when not in use.

Patent is not pending so feel free to use the idea.
