Wow they are the WORST ever... I first had a so-so sales experience, where Leo was very nice and worked out good numbers, but when I purchased a Shift-Tech hugger before I left they wouldn't let me use an allen key to install in really quick (2 min job) and if I wanted them to do it I had to wait over an hour (so I returned the hugger that I later found out I paid over Shift-Tech Retail for).

Then I had all my service issues with them:
http://ducatispot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3005
http://ducatispot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3012
http://ducatispot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3070

Now, I placed an order for 3 parts over a month ago (DP Hugger, DP CF Sprocket Cover, and DP Pressure Plate) to use the Ducati NA gift certificate I recieved due to all my previous headaches with Ducati Miami. I have called probably 10 times since I ordered for status updates (because apparently they don't call their customers) and kept getting the same answer of "Try back next week". I was told they had the sprocket cover and pressure plate in stock so we were just waiting on the hugger... Well today I called and they got the hugger but didn't have the sprocket cover anymore!! Then when I ask for the price, the special "you purchased your bike here" price was 40% OVER MSRP for the parts!!!! When I questioned it I was told in the last couple weeks Ducati NA raised prices.... 40%?? No way, and not to mention I ordered my pieces over a month ago so that really should matter.

So now I have been screwed by sales, service, and parts at Ducati Miami and as nice of a guy as I am I have taken enough abuse and am plain sick and tired of their crap. I am in the dealership industry and if I did my job the way these guys did I would be fired on the spot!!

Buyer beware of Ducati Miami! They have now lost my service business, my parts business and my future sales business (and I love my bike so there would be many more to come..)

That really sucks! I think it's just Miami in general. I spent two weeks there on TDY and I wasn't impressed at all with the whole area. No offense if it's your home.

My 848 was the most pleasurable purchase ever at Touring Sport in South Carolina. Take your business somewhere else..........you're spending too much money to be treated like trash. IMO

+1 on issues with them. This is the place that when I called 3 days after I got my 848 up in Daytona the parts guy asked if my 848 was the Monster :wtf: .

Then he proceeded to ask what year was my 848! :bash:

Spoke to Hannah at Pure Ducati in Ft. Lauderdale tonight... WHAT A PLEASURE!! Very helpful, knew exactly what parts I wanted, gave me CORRECT non-inflated prices (They did go up about 10%, but at least its not 40%!! haha) and had my items in stock!! I am so upset I purchased my bike in Miami and have been dealing with them, but Pure wasn't open yet...

Looks like they will be getting all of my business in every department from now on!! I urge everyone to give them a call for all your South Florida Ducati needs, such a nice change from the snobs at Ducati Miami!!

I would ride it over a cliff and claim the insurance. And buy a desmosedici and ride the shit out of it. 3 years unlimited miles and free service. Stick it to ducati not the dealer.Because ducati DNA should be going to each dealer and making sure service is an A+. Sounds like South bitch Miami ducati suck poo. Ducati should buy your bike back to keep you a happy customer for life. If this shit happens to me on my ducati its over. If they buy back your bike you will be a life long HAPPY ducati buyer right?

AMG ETR - Sorry to hear about your troubles but good to hear you like the service at Pure Ducati that you received so far seems that Hannah does a good job. Glad to say they do offer our products as well without blowing up the prices :)

I travel two hours to take my bike to a shop I can trust. .... ... Well worth the drive, ...........
That is KEY to high satisfaction Ducati ownership. Get referrals from committed owners and trust your instincts. I live near 2 hrs from the only guy I've been to in 20 years and up to 3 hrs in the past. Depending on weather, its always an enjoyable ride and you can trust your dealer is looking after you.

I've been working at car dealers since i turned about 19 or so. Some Suck, Some are Great. Motorcycle Dealers are notoriously awful (more so than car dealers). I have a 1098, and my UPS man at work has an old 80's something ducati. When i go into SLC motorsports (duc dealer), they treat me like royalty. When he goes in for parts or something like that, they treat him like $hit. What sucks, is that pretty much everyone in the dealer HATES the sales department. They know nothing, and if they sell you a bike, it doesn't mean other departments give you special treatment. Does parts get paid on commission and try to screw you? Yes. Does sales give a damn about you after you buy a bike from them? probably not. Does service hate doing warranty work because it pays half of what cash work does? Yes.

One of my friends is a salesman at the ducati place, and he is clueless about the products he sells. When i first went in to buy a 1098, he told me they were sold out and i couldn't get one till next year, blah blah. I went to another dealer, put in a deposit, and got "the last 1098 in utah", and then slc motorsports got one more 07, and sold it to some chump... Point is, they have something you want, and i think for that reason, they think they're entitled to suck. Now that i have my motorcycle, i stay away from dealers for any reason. Warranty, maybe, but i expect to have things stuck there for months. Thank god i've been lucky.

As far as aftermarket parts go, I've gone into the local dealer, and seen carbon fiber parts bolted on so loosely they rattled when i flicked them. Weak. As far as i'm concerned, Having the dealer work on my ducati is like me being a surgeon, and having someone else operate on my child. I trust Nobody.

Really? I did not know that. Is that because warranty work underpays, or do they overcharge for cash service?

Yes.As far as i'm concerned, Having the dealer work on my ducati is like me being a surgeon, and having someone else operate on my child. I trust Nobody.
Except there is a very valid reason not to operate on a family member: Often times emotion clouds judgment and needs to be eliminated from the equation. And thinking you are the best in the world is supreme confidence: Thinking nobody is as good as you is arrogance. The former allows you to accomplish amazing things; the latter gets you into trouble out of which you can’t get.

Hey guys,

Wow, thanks Evan for the props! I finally decided to join the forum, it seems a bit late, though. Perhaps I could've saved a few of you from the Dade County headaches!

Now, I can't bash any other dealers, so you won't hear me complaining about my competition to the south, but I will like y'all to know that I used to work down there.....and there's a few VERY GOOD reasons why I'm at Pure Ducati in Fort Lauderdale, now!

For any of you guys in South Florida who need parts, accessories, apparel, service, or even a new bike, remember that you do have choices!

Thanks!

I concur. That 's what I've been telling these bad dealerships, we do have choices. We can always go to another dealership to get our new bikes, services and parts. The only thing the dealerships can do is change their names and hope for the best.

I guess I got pretty lucky with my experience. I bought my 1098 at South Seas Ducati in Honolulu and had a great experience. I recommend buying from Shawn. Very knowledgeable on the bike and took an extra 30 min to make sure that I knew all of the details about my machine. Parts is great. Scott always takes care of me and makes sure that I am walking out with the best items without taking me for a ride. And my mech is BA. Will is the only Ducati mech in the state so you can imagine his work load. But he takes care of you and makes sure that everything is to your liking before you pay for it. Overall, great Dealership. I just hope that I can find a place just like it in SoCal when I get out there in July. Anybody recommend a specific dealership?

I haven't purchased a bike from South Seas, however, I have dealt with them on my R6. I personally think their sales guys a cool, but their service manager is far from helpful. I was gonna buy my 848 from them return I return from deployment, but they tend to jack their prices on the setup and freight. I ended up putting a deposit on one in Illinois, so I'll meet her when I PCS. Just my experience. Mike.
