ducati shifter stuck

so sadly i laid my bike down softly no damage at all a week later the shifter gets stuck when i shift down and i have to jiggle it to come back up any idea if its an enternal problem ?

I TRIED SHIFTING RN AND ITS NOT GETTING STUCK WOULDN'T A BROKEN RETURN SPRING NOT GO UP IF IT WAS BROKEN MINE GOES UP I JUST HAVE TO PUSH IT UP AND WIGGLE IT

I had the same issue. In my case it was the shifter shaft was bent. You couldn't see the bend with the naked eye but it was just enough that it would bind in the oil seal. I bought a used shifter linkage and changed it out and cured it. You will need to pull the flywheel to get at it. I got the double flywheel nuts from Motowheels that cuts the required torque in half.

i just accidently had my cap on my computer sorry but i figured it out

yes i figured it out mine was bent also but naked to the eye

While your in there you could put the heavier return spring on it. I had a broken one once and replaced with a stronger spring and it never did it after that. Shifts were more positive as well.
