Got this '09 1198 used and when I removed the seat to do some cleaning, I found this plug totally burned from the exposure to the exhaust. Do you have any idea what this is, where it goes, what it does, or how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.

How did that burn?? It must have been resting right on the exhaust under the subframe. I can't see radiating heat cause such a melt down. Not sure what the harness is for, but maybe an ABS module in the storage compartment of the tailsection??

Thank you for your reply COP TZR. Exactly. It was sitting right on top of the exhaust. I think it might be something for testing or troubleshooting device to connect to see error codes or something. It goes towards the front of the bike.

I know on my 2008 1098R there was a similar connector, in the same location under the seat, for the DTC lean angle sensor...

I assume that is the DDA port. Ducati Data Analyser.
You may never need or use it. Obviously replace the plug first and zip tie it securely.
