anyone had trouble realigning their fairings ( belly pans) it just wont line up on one side where it meets v-panel ,small gap on left side. also my fairing screws were mixed up and some didnt have nylon washers, not good enough on 30k bike. some of the screws have longer shoulders (2) where do these buggers go ? i think my dealers mixed them up on delivery. i tried them all over, but had to settle on the holes closest to rear wheel.

Alignment

I find that the bodywork fits pretty well. All fasteners should have the nylon washers - be careful they are easy to misplace.

As I recall there are are actually three larger sized fasteners on each side. Two that hold the top of the fairing on the diagonal down tube, a third that holds the front lower middle. Use the size of the hole in the fairing as a guide. Make sure you get the nylon washers or your faring might get scratched and/or your fasteners will work loose.

Hopefully your dealer will be able to provide you with some guidance. Your Ducati is a finely crafted machine that does not respond well to ham handed wrenching. Finding a competent dealer with a professional maintenance team is a significant challenge.

I also have two or three pretty poor alignments at the fairing joints. One of these days I'll put the panel out in the sun, weight it at the appropriate spot to flex it and let it cook. Works very well actually but you have to overdo it a tad to compensate for the panel going back some after it cools.

There's a devious little plastic tab at the bottom (front) of the fairing panels which needs to be slotted into place before they will fit properly. It's easy to fit them back with it not in the correct position - I know, I've had to remove most of the screws again to reseat it!

Try fitting the front bolts of the bellypan first and leave the ones at the rear to last cause they actually move and can adjusted whereas the front ones dont. I had the same problem at first - then I loosened the rear ones and the whole pan moved into position.
