Sweet...

PM me all of your contact info if you'd like to meet up that day. Will you guys be in Group A or Group B?

I signed up for Sept 4th, too. Pretty sweet we're doing the same track day!

I did Group B (that's the beginner one, right?) since Fishtail will be my 4th track day...wait a minute, maybe I should've done the other group? ;) Anyways, I've only done one track day as of today and my best lap time was 1.42, which, from what I'm told, ain't bad for my first time. :) I averaged in the 1.42 - 1.50.

Which group did you do?

You interested in heading up together? I don't have a trailer so I was planning riding up the morning of.

I'll head up with you...

I'll use my buddy's trailer if he's not going to ride that day. And I recommend getting a trailer if at all possible...that is a long ass day and riding home you might be smoked.

They don't time your laps in the schools, at least not with Fishtail...I don't think anyway. After my first session in Group B they bumped me up to Group A, you guys might be fine in Group A but you can always start in B and ask to be bumped or just get bumped by default. Feel free to check my post re: Loudon 8/6 if you want a little more feedback on my first (rainy) day.

Well

I'm not the earliest riser but if we get there early enough we can get garages either together or next to each other. Group A gets even and Group B gets odd if I remember correctly...not to mention you share garages anyway so you can sneak in as long as one isn't already dominated.

So, are you going up Tuesday morning or Monday night? Maybe, we can head up together - I can follow you on my bike.

Regarding garages, it'd be cool if the 3-4 of us can share the same one...

When I did the Keith Code Superbike School, I stayed at the Red Roof the night before and rode home the day of the track day...yeah, I was tired but it wasn't too bad.

I'm fine with starting in Group B and get bumped up to A if need be.

I was surprised that the Code School allowed us to rent lap timers and know that most track days don't allow you to record lap times (which is good). The Code School didn't give us our times until the end of the day.

Most likely scenario

I'll probably drive up that morning...but I'll see how much the RRI costs just in case. Any idea?

Yeah, we can either share a garage if in the same group or it's almost the same thing if you're right next door to someone in another group anyway.

Hey good news

Not to jinx us, so knock on wood...just checked the weather and so far it says 78 and partly sunny on the 4th! Although Loudon has a weird weather system and I don't trust the forecasters completely, I really hope they're right...fingers crossed man.

Shhhh....*knock on wood!*

Btw, I am beat after 2 back-to-back track days! Good thing I have this weekend to rest-up for Fishtail.

Oh, one bummer, I low-sided my bike at Turn 3...(last session of the day on Tuesday) thanks to cold tires. Ugh...I knew I should've done one more warm-up lap! Luckily, all the damage was cosmetic.

Well

that really sucks...but I'm glad it's cosmetic and that you're okay. Good attitude man! Although I don't want to be that guy, it can happen to anyone...at least you got your first one out of the way.....

P.S. I definitely need to know what you end up doing about the damage - insurance, etc. We'll talk...

Hi Folks,

I don't know if we met but I was at the Fishtail Riding School this Wednesday and had a blast adn met some folks. I am a touring rider now and have been for a long time... my checkered past long behind me. It was my first day on track with a motorbike in well over 10 years and I was on a silver R1200RT and pitted in the garage closest to the track entrance. I am always looking for folks to ride with in the area and just moved to Cambridge from Boston mostly so my wife and I could have a garage and keep a bike... which we have been without for over 3 years. The RT now has over 1000 miles on it since I bought it and the school yesterday brought back memories and hopefully helped establish some good habits. If you met me there drop me a PM.

I was wearing a gray Aerostich suit with black patches in the morning and then switched over to a RevIt ventilated suit that was all black in the afternoon and wearing a silver helmet.

If I don't resist the track habit I am going to be building a STRONG desire for a 748!

Cheers,
Dave

If you were there on Wednesday then you missed us - we were there on Tuesday. If you were there on Tuesday, we were pitted in the 2nd and 3rd garages from the track. Basically, right in front of the tech inspection station.

There was a guy from Canada pitted with me who was riding a silver R1200, too. He needed *some* tape to cover all of his plastics/headlights...I think he used half of my roll - that front headlight is HUGE! ;)

Ah! I wasn't there the same day. Dang. :)

Just got back from NHIS with Tony's Track Days which was great fun too. Fantastic weather if a bit brisk (34F) on the ride up from Boston. Amazingly I got cold but not cold in a bad, painful, nasty way. Just a bit chilly which was refreshing.

Nice! Yeah, I really like Tony's...he runs a great track day.

Btw, where in Cambridge do you live? I'm in Davis Square...
