Anyone know if the innards from an 848 swingarm (hub and axle etc) will fit into a 916 swinger?

And vise versa?

Thanks

848 hub is a larger diameter, hubs are not interchangeable.
Axle is the same.
Drive plate is the same.
Sprocket is the same.
Caliper hangers are not interchangeable because the locking slot is in a different place. Adaptable.

Thanks, what do you have to do to the hanger?
I'm hoping to use one to fit an 848 caliper, disc and speed sensor to a 916 swinger.

Cheers

Use a hypermotard hanger, it's a straight swap and you can use the 848 rotor, caliper and speed sensor. It's more difficult to make the 848 hanger fit the 996 s/arm than it is to make the 996 hanger fit the 848 s/arm. You can't use a 996 hanger with a 848 rotor.

can you show where the "strategic" machining of the 996 rocker needs to occur?

also, for the 30mm offset triples, will the steering tube from all the 848/1098/1198 series fit the 916/748/996/998 series?

Nichol's site shows that they all seem to work, but just confirming!

Why, are you going to make your own adapter?

The 848 steering tube and stem are longer than the others.

Please excuse my ignorance... But why didn't you just use the 848 wheel/ hub/ brake/ etc assembly as opposed to exchanging it all for the 996 bits?

Bike looks badass, and you should be congratulated on your work here. It's guys like you who keep our race (humans) evolving :)

pics

The first pic was the first prototype I fitted. First 2 were junked as the learning curve grew. All other pics were taken with the final design fitted. I will make a better effort of the "squashed" pipe now that everything works properly. The ride feels pretty good, difficult to really feel a difference in the springing. Will know more after I fit the offset triples and get to the track. Feel free to as questions. Cheers.
