There was a long thread on here a while back about the issues with the quick shift on the 848 Corse, biggest issue being false neutrals and jumping out of gear after a shift(I have had both happen to me). The issues are sporadic and near impossible to duplicate on demand from all i have read and personal experience.

The reason i bring this up again is because i just did the clutch and brake fluid on my bike and have not experienced these issues ONCE since the new fluid was put in.

For those of you that have run into these issues before, when was the last time you changed your clutch fluid and how old is the bike? Interesting to see if dirty clutch fluid is a possible cause for these glitches when using the QS.....

I dont use the clutch while using QS as that defeats the whole purpose, just noticed that the issues have not been present since I changed fluid (and obviously shifts with the clutch are now smoother). Does the QS bypass the clutch all together? If so might just be lucky it hasent happened lately... Ive had a few close calls due to this glitch when trying to pass someone and my bike jumps out of gear and redlines, not fun.

you can essentially quick shift the bike without a quickshifter. just blip the throttle and shift at the same time. as long as the gears arnt loaded up it will shift nice and smooth. takes a little practice but ive been racing dirtbikes for years and never touch the clutch to shift.

as for jumping out of gear or not going into the next gear even when the shifter was pulled all the way up, i remember a ducati rep or mechanic saying to stop pussy-footing it. i can tell you i never shift light and it is an issue with the bike, not my shifting. clutch or not, sometimes it just goes into neutral, most often between 5&6, but ive had it happen in every gear over time.
